Coaching the real buzz for Clement

Paul Clement is happy the transfer window is now shut and he can get on with the job of coaching the Swansea players.

It was a tough off-season for the Swans, with the Gylfi Sigurdsson situation dragging on for most of the window while they also had to deal with the late loss of Fernando Llorente to Tottenham.

Clement did not know who he would have at his disposal but the re-signing of Wilfried Bony appears to have cushioned the blow of losing his two most productive players.

The boss thought Llorente would remain at the Liberty Stadium but feels his departure has left the club in a strong position.

"The fact he could have gone for nothing in a year’s time, that we'd have had to renew his contract if we were to have some security for the club," he said.

"There were risks - but all’s well that ends well. He got what he wanted, we got Wilfried Bony back and the squad looks good."

The former Bayern Munich assistant now wants to concentrate on matters on the pitch after confessing that he would rather leave wheeling and dealing in the transfer market to other people.

"It's not my favourite part of the job but in the end I was pleased with way it went. It could have been a lot worse," he added. "But this is the part I like. This part now. Coaching and preparing for games."
