Sanches patience needed says boss

Paul Clement has again insisted that Renato Sanches needs to be given time to settle in after a quiet game against Tottenham.

Swansea boss Clement decided to start Sanches again during the 0-0 draw with Spurs at Wembley, but his loan signing from Bayern Munich was largely anonymous and substituted in the second half.

"It's going to take him some time to get up to speed," Clement said after the game. "Germany is not the Premier League. It is similar to France and Spain."

Swansea, meanwhile, continued their strong form on the road so far this season. They have lost both their home matches to Manchester United and Newcastle but are yet to taste defeat in four games on their travels.

The Swans rode their luck at times as Tottenham pushed for a winning goal, but Clement was happy with the way his side set their stall out at Wembley.

"Good defending has to be applauded," Clement added. "You go to Italy and they applaud it. We are showing that on our day we are difficult to beat."
