Haggerty believes that team tennis competitions are in desperate need of a shake up and will consider how to draw more attention to the Davis Cup and female equivalent, the Fed Cup.
It’s understood that cities could be made to bid for the chance to host the finals of both competitions, while Davis Cup ties may be reduced from three to two days.
The Fed Cup world group, which currently contains eight teams, could be doubled to 16 to match the men’s event.
Haggerty said: "This is part of our mission to make the appeal of tennis broad and wide.
