Fed Cup back on Australian star's agenda

World number 41 Sam Stosur says she hopes to return to the Australian Fed Cup team in 2018.

Stosur holds the Australian record for most Fed Cup singles victories but she opted not to compete in the event this year.

The 33-year-old former world number four says she still has to work out a schedule for next year but she is hopeful she will be able to make herself available for Australia, and that her country will call on her services.

"I’d love to be a part of Fed Cup again - we have a fantastic team now and I’ll be talking to Alicia [Molik, the Australia captain]," the 2011 US Open winner told the Courier Mail.

"We are working through a few things on how we can make it come together. I’ve thought about it [playing for Australia in 2018] all this year to be honest after I made the decision not to play this year. It’s difficult with scheduling to do it every single year."
