Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has failed to add to his first-team options since July and, as things stand, last season's runners-up are set to head into the new Premier League campaign with virtually the same squad.
Kyle Walker made a big-money exit to Manchester City while fringe forward Clinton N'Jie has joined Marseille but while there have been some raised eye-brows over the lack of new faces, Dembele says keeping the majority of the squad together was more important.
"The way we have played the last few years...there is a lot of confidence in the team," he told Sky Sports.
"The biggest aim was to keep everyone together. It's a positive thing.
"We've played a few years together and everybody knows their role in the team. This year is going to be a special year for us I think."
