Spurs have adopted a policy in the past of drafting in youngsters who are expected to go on to great things with the likes of Gareth Bale, Giovani dos Santos and Kevin-Prince Boateng arriving at the club.
However, Redknapp says he wants players who can slot straight into his side and is hoping to reveal his plans to Daniel Levy this week.
"You have to keep moving forward," said Redknapp. "I just want players who can come in and make us a better team. The players that I have in mind are playing very well and are in their prime.
"I'll sit down with the chairman this week and have a chat and see where we go. I've got one or two people I'd like to bring in, whether we can get them I don't know. If we could get the couple of players I'd like I think we'd be a good side next year."
