Hoddle warns Spurs over Kane

Glenn Hoddle says Tottenham Hotspur must pay Harry Kane what he's worth or risk losing the striker.

England international Kane has been in scintillating form once again this season, scoring six Premier League goals from seven appearances whilst also ensuring the Three Lions booked their spot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The 24-year-old's impressive performances are said to have caught the eye of several top European outfits and there are suggestion Real Madrid are preparing a sizeable offer that could involve three players being offered in exchange for the striker.

Hoddle, who managed Spurs from 2001-2003 and England from 1996-1999, has warned Spurs they need to start matching the ambitions of Kane if they are going to keep him at the club for the considerable future.

"There is no one in better form than Harry Kane and the kid is such a good lad. I have met, I've worked with him. He just wants to learn. He is no problem to the manager," he said. "He has got absolutely everything. Left foot goals, right foot goals, inside the box. Why wouldn't you pay him top dollar?

"It can only go on for a few more years of 'oh, I love Tottenham, this is my club'. In the end his agent and himself and are going to go 'hold on, you have to match my ambition and desire to win things'."
