Star eyes return home
Roman Pavlyuchenko has revealed he wants to return to Russia as he tries to engineer a move away from Tottenham.
A host of clubs throughout Europe have been linked with a move for the Russian striker after he made it clear he wants to leave White Hart Lane in search of first-team football but the player says a return to his homeland is his preferred choice.
Zenit St Petersburg are known to be keen but the striker says he would accept 'any decent offer' he is that desperate to get away from the club in January.
"I have a huge desire to return home," he told a Russian magazine. "I'm prepared to accept any decent offer from Russia. It seems Tottenham is now a turned page for me.
"I don't expect the situation to change for the better. Six months ago, I landed on the bench. I immediately made it clear I did not want to be there.
"The manager kept saying he relied on me, but nothing changed. I need to find a way out of this."
