City check out Turkish teen with low release clause
Manchester City scouted Sunday’s Istanbul derby with Galatasaray’s teenage defender Ozan Kabak a potential future target.
The 18-year-old centre-back put in another assured display for the Turkish champions, who lost 1-0 to Besiktas at the Vodafone Stadium.
Kabak’s side conceded a penalty when Eren Derdiyok was adjudged to have fouled Mustafa Pektemek, but it seemed a harsh decision.
But the teenager almost brought the visitors level in the 32nd minute when he got free at a corner and hit the crossbar with a close-range volley.
Kabak, who has a 7.5m euros release clause in his contract, has been linked to a number of high-profile clubs since breaking into and establishing himself as a firm fixture in Fatih Terim’s side this season.
City are unlikely to have been the only Champions League club represented at the game as Inter Milan and Roma have also been linked to him recently.
