Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness insists a deal has yet to be struck for Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard.

Speculation regards the future of the defender has been mounting ever since he impressed during France’s successful World Cup campaign in the summer.

Stuttgart managed to keep hold before the closure of the last transfer window, but reports are rife they will face a fresh battle when it opens again in the new year.

Bayern are keen to keep him in the Bundesliga but top clubs throughout Europe are also keen, including Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham, and Serie A side Napoli.

Pavard, who can play either in central defence or at full-back, has a 35million euros buy-out clause in his current deal, but Hoeness insists no deal has been struck as yet.

“If [the Pavard deal] was done, I would have announced it straight away,’ he said. “Of course, he is a player who interests us. At the moment, however, there is no transfer period and the topic is not up-to-date.”
