Stuttgart face battle to keep defender
Stuttgart are bracing themselves for more interest in Benjamin Pavard, following reports Napoli have joined the race to sign him.
Speculation regards the future of the defender has been mounting ever since he impressed during France’s successful World Cup campaign in the summer.
Stuttgart managed to keep hold before the closure of the last transfer window, but reports are rife they will face a fresh battle when it opens again in the new year.
Bayern Munich are keen to keep him in the Bundesliga but top clubs throughout Europe are also keen, including Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham.
Serie A side Napoli can also be added to that list with reports claiming that Pavard, who can play either in central defence or at full-back, has a 35million euros buy-out clause in his current deal.
If correct, the race could be on to see who activates it first.
