Grillitsch on Spurs’ radar as Dembele replacement
Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch is reported to be high on Tottenham’s list of potential replacements for Mousa Dembele.
Sky Sports claim the 23-year-old Austrian could be targeted once Spurs offload the Belgian midfielder – the subject of a lucrative offer from Chinese Super League club Beijing Sinobo Guoan.
Spurs scouts have been watching Grillitsch play at club and international level this season and have apparently been impressed by the ex-Werder Bremen starlet.
Although his contract at Hoffenheim has more than two-and-a-half years left to run, it contains a release clause of just over £18million.
Another possible January target for Spurs is Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria, with chief scout Steve Hitchen understood to have been following him closely since his move to Germany.
Sky say Mauricio Pochettino asked for regular updates on the 22-year-old during the midfielder’s time at Swiss Super League outfit Young Boys.
