Rangers are hoping to enter into negotiations with Liverpool over a permanent deal for winger Ryan Kent.

The 22-year-old has impressed at Ibrox in the first half of the season, with three goals and three assists so far from 23 appearances.

Kent appears to be enjoying his time in Scotland and reports say he would be open to a permanent switch as he realises he may struggle to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield with the likes of Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino all blocking a potential path to the first XI.

Kent, who has had previous loan spells at Freiburg and Bristol City, has made just one senior appearance for Liverpool and Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wants to exploit his Anfield links to sort out a permanent deal.

Any agreement is unlikely to be made this month but talks could be opened in the summer between all parties, especially if the Oldham-born wide player continues to do well in the second half of the season.
