Swans ace admits ‘nothing concrete’ in big club talk
Swansea’s Wilfried Bony says speculation linking him with both Galatasaray and Marseille was just January transfer window paper talk.
The Ivory Coast striker joined Qatari side Al-Arabi on loan for the rest of the season in the final few days of the transfer window.
Swansea were desperate to get the 30-year-old’s £120,000-a-week contract off their wage bill and he will become a free agent in the summer.
The rumours of interest from the Turkish champions and last season’s Europa League finalists came and went during the window and, although Bony admits there was nothing concrete in them, he will hope to attract more interest in the summer.
‘These are important clubs, but until then, there has been nothing concrete, I think the [rumours] are just the work of journalists,’ Bony told Sport-Ivoire.ci.
‘I said, I’m a player of Swansea until the end of the season, but a player who is on loan to Al-Arabi, after we’ll see.’
