United tipped to swoop for Napoli target
Manchester United intend to hijack Napoli’s move for PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano, according to reports in Italy.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that United may re-focus their attention on Lozano, despite Napoli being considered the firm favourites to sign the Mexican magician.
The Red Devils were the first major European club linked to Lozano, then at Pachuca, in 2016 and the player’s father in law even said the deal would be done after the Olympic Games.
However, he joined PSV instead and has seen his value rocket with some impressive displays for the Eredivisie champions in both domestic action and Champions League football.
United are on the lookout for a new wideman and have also been linked with fellow PSV attacker Steven Bergwijn.
La Gazzetta state United will use their links with agent Mino Raiola to jump ahead of Napoli, who are rumoured to be willing to pay £34m for the 23-year-old.
