Jovic scores in front of Inter scout
Inter made a fresh check on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic on Thursday but the player’s father says he wants to stay in Germany.
Inter have been linked to Jovic as they seek a new centre forward to build a title-contending team around as Mauro Icardi’s future at the club still appears to be in doubt.
The 21-year-old forward is set to complete a two-year loan spell with Eintracht this summer but the Bundesliga club hold the option to sign him permanently for £6.
5million from Benfica.
The Nerazzurri scouts at the Stadium of Light in Lisbon on Thursday saw him score in a 4-2 defeat to his parent club.
Barcelona, Bayern Munich and several Premier League sides have also been linked to the ex-Red Star Belgrade ace but Jovic’s father has claimed that the striker will reject interest from the likes of Barca and Chelsea to stay in the Bundesliga.
‘Luka has had many offers – one of them was Barcelona, but he’s not interested now,’ he told Bild.
‘He isn’t sure he would get any minutes at Barcelona.
The truth is that Luka wants to stay in the Bundesliga and qualify with Eintracht for the Champions League.
‘ Jovic, who has scored 25 times in all competitions, grabbed the winner away to Inter in the last 16 of the Europa League last month.
