Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Hooper is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in the MLS and the Turkish Super Lig.

The former Celtic ace has endured an injury-plagued spell at Hillsborough, making his first appearance since Boxing Day 2017 during the goalless draw with Stoke at the end of last month.

The 31-year-old has gone on to feature three more times in the Championship over the course of April, scoring in the 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa, but he is out of contract at the end of the season and there are no signs that Wednesday are set to offer him improved terms.

That has put a number of clubs on red alert, with reports suggesting American clubs New York City FC and DC United, as well as Turkish top-flight sides Trabzonspor and Bursaspor, are said to be showing an interest.

Three unnamed English teams are also believed to be keeping tabs on Hooper, who won four major trophies during his time with Celtic and also counts the likes of Norwich, Scunthorpe and Southend on his list of former clubs.
