Defender Joel Senior has revealed his delight after completing a move from Curzon Ashton to Burnley.

The right-back has put pen to paper on a 12-month contract, which contains the option of an extra year, after impressing in National League North with Curzon Ashton.

Senior will initially link up with Steve Stone’s Under-23 side, who play at Curzon’s Tameside Stadium, as he looks to eventually force his way into the first-team picture at Burnley.

The 19-year-old feels the switch is reward for his hard work over the past few years and hopes to make full use of the opportunity.

Senior told Burnley‘s official website: ‘I’m delighted.

It’s been a long time coming.

I’ve been working hard for it for the last three or four years and it’s finally happened.

Burnley have put their trust in me and I’m delighted to be here.

‘A lot of people’s routes have been different and mine has been to come up through men’s football with some good clubs.

I’ve finally found Burnley and I’m delighted to be here.’
