Arsenal target available for ‘cheap’ price
Arsenal target Thomas Partey has a £43.5million release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract, according to his agent.
The Gunners are rumoured to be targeting a new defensive midfielder this summer and Ghana international Partey is seemingly high on their wish-list.
The 25-year-old has established himself as a regular for Atleti over the last two seasons and he remains under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until the summer of 2023, although his agent, Daniel Jimenez, has now revealed he has a ‘cheap’ release clause.
‘There’s a €50m (£43.
5m) release clause in his contract, a figure that’s cheap for a player like Thomas,’ Jimenez told Passione.
‘We’ll wait for the season to end and then we’ll see.
‘ Arsenal are not the only club believed to be interested in Partey, as Italian giants Inter Milan are also said to be monitoring his situation, although Jimenez insists he has had no direct contact with any potential buying clubs.
‘I can say that right now, I haven’t talked to anyone, even if Inter are a top club,’ Jimenez added.
