Betis tell Spurs they will have to spend big for target
Real Betis coach Rubi has told Tottenham they will have to spend big to have a chance of signing Giovani Lo Celso this summer.
The 23-year-old is thought to be a top target for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and there is clearly no smoke without fire as rumours of a move refuse to go away.
Spurs are reported to have failed with at least one bid as the La Liga side hold out for as much cash as possible, and they have no intention of selling below their valuation.
It has been claimed the player has a 100million euros buyout clause in his contract and by the way Rubi is talking, they will not settle for a penny less.
‘Our intention is to try to maintain as much as we can the squad that is there because Betis is a great team, and to add to that to make an even better team’, Rubi told a press conference when asked about Lo Celso.
‘If there has to be an exit, let it be to collect a lot of money to be able to invest.’
