Rondon linked with Marseille move
Marseille are planning a move for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle.
OM boss Andre Villas-Boas worked with the Venezuela international during his time in charge of Zenit St Petersburg and reports in France claim he is keen to be reunited with Rondon.
Marseille are hunting for a new forward as Mario Balotelli is set to leave as a free agent after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League, and Villas-Boas sees Rondon as an ideal replacement.
Newcastle were expected to attempt to sign the Albion forward on a permanent basis after he managed 11 Premier League goals last season, but their bid has stalled amid a protracted takeover saga and Marseille are ready to move quickly in a bid to win the race for his signature.
Rondon has one year left on his West Brom deal after Baggies officials triggered an automatic one-year extension clause in his deal in August last year and it remains to be seen how big a fee the Championship club will demand this summer.
