Morison completes Millwall loan exit
Millwall have confirmed that veteran forward Steve Morison will spend the 2019-20 season on loan at Shrewsbury.
The experienced 35-year-old is equal-fifth on the Lions all-time leading goalscorer chart after finding the back of the net 92 times in 335 appearances across two different spells at The Den.
However, the goals have dried up for Morison over recent seasons – he only netted once during the 2018-19 campaign – and Millwall have now confirmed he will spend next term on loan at League One club Shrewsbury, where he will link up with his former Wales international colleague Sam Ricketts – who is in charge at the New Meadow.
‘Steve Morison will join Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town on loan for the duration of the 2019/20 campaign,’ Millwall confirmed on their club website.
The duration of Morison’s loan spell at Shrewsbury will take him to the end of his current contract with Millwall and it remains to be seen whether the club will offer him a new deal, perhaps one that would see become part of Neil Harris’ backroom team.
