Llorente move confirmed by Atletico
Marcos Llorente has joined Atletico Madrid from city rivals Real on a five-year deal in a move reportedly worth 40million euros.
The midfielder had been tipped to make the move to the Wanda Metropolitana this summer and now the switch has been confirmed, subject to a medical, with reports from Spain saying the two clubs reached a compromise over the fee after Real had initially wanted 50million euros for the 24-year-old.
Llorente has been with Real since 2016 but has never been able to hold down a regular place for Los Blancos and made just six starts in La Liga last season.
Manchester United and Arsenal were also tentatively linked with Llorente but he has opted for Atleti, where he is being seen as a replacement for Rodri, who is widely expected to join Manchester City this summer.
