Reds rule out swoop for Sporting ace
Liverpool will not be making a move for Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes despite reports suggesting they are keen to do a deal.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is looking to bolster his squad in the summer before launching another assault for the Premier League title, and Fernandes had been linked.
The midfielder had a fine season in Portugal when scoring 32 goals and providing another 18 assists, so it was no surprise to see links to Liverpool emerge.
It was claimed that a £40million offer had gone in, but such reports appear to be wide of the mark as Liverpool are not interested and are exploring other targets instead.
Sporting are also demanding big money as the player is under contract until 2022, and Liverpool would rather keep their powder dry for other top targets.
That could open the door for the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, who are also said to be interested.
