Schalke hope to land striker at second attempt
Schalke are reported to be lining up a swoop for Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen and hope to land him at the second attempt.
Schalke were in the hunt to sign the Dutch striker on loan during the January transfer window, but failed to get a deal over the line and he ended up staying in north London.
However they appear to be back in the hunt and hope to have more luck this time as Tottenham look to cash in rather than run the risk of losing him for nothing in 12 months.
The striker has only made four appearances for Spurs in the past two seasons and the time has come for him to get fixed up with new club and play some first-team football.
Janssen has shown his quality in the past when firing home 31 goals in 49 appearances for Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, which prompted Spurs to splash out £17million to sign him.
Schalke believe they can help him rediscover that form, hence their decision to try and get him on board.
