Power attracting interest from Dutch giants
Norwich City midfielder Simon Power has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Ajax.
Eredivisie champions Ajax are eager to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, especially with Frenkie de Jong joining Barcelona, and Norwich starlet Power is believed to be a target.
The 21-year-old joined the Canaries’ academy from UCD last summer but he has yet to make his senior bow for the Norfolk outfit, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Dordrecht.
It is claimed the midfielder was watched by a number of teams while representing the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21’s at the Toulon tournament earlier this month.
Power, who is expected to train with Norwich’s first team ahead of the new campaign, helped his country reach the semi-final stage of the competition.
Ajax are looking to wrap up a deal although they face competition from the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and PSV Eindhoven.
