£25million Traore pursued by Everton
Everton are ready to step up their pursuit of Lyon forward Bertrand Traore as Marcel Brands looks to add to the squad.
Director of football Brands has been in the headlines as he plots to turn Andre Gomes’ loan from Barcelona into a permanent move, but it is also understood the Toffees are plotting a £25million bid for Traore to bring him to Goodison Park.
The Burkina Faso international impressed last season, scoring 11 goals and supplying five assists from 48 appearances in all competitions, and has developed well since leaving Chelsea two years ago.
When asked about his future recently, Traore suggested that he’s happy with Les Gones but unsure if wants to see out his contract.
‘I am well in Lyon.
I still have a three-year contract,’ said Traore.
When pushed on his future, he added: ‘I do not know yet.
‘ Everton are keen to sign a versatile forward, who can play across the frontline, and boss Marco Silva is believed to prefer a left-footed player who can feature on the right.
The Portuguese is said to have given the green light for the move for the 23-year-old, who he believes has the potential to develop into a leading Premier League attacker.
