Carrasco’s English switch off
Arsenal look set to miss out on Yannick Carrasco after his agent confirmed Dalian Yifang don’t want to sell.
Belgium international Carrasco joined the Chinese outfit in February 2018, ending a three-year spell at Atletico Madrid, and he has been in good form since the move, scoring 14 goals from 35 CSL appearances.
Arsenal have held a long interest in the 25-year-old winger and, having failed with a January bid, they were reportedly ready to return for a second bite at the cherry this summer.
The Gunners’ chances of completing a deal looked to have increased after Carrasco’s recent comments but his agent appears to have ended any hopes a move to the Emirates will happen after revealing Dalian Yifang won’t entertain any offers.
Christophe Henrotay told Belgian publication Het Laatste Nieuws: ‘Carrasco has been saying for a long time that he wants to return to Europe.
There are clubs that would like to sign him.
One club submitted a formal offer.
‘Other clubs, such as Arsenal, also wanted to do that but Dalian said he was not for sale.’
