Emery urges Gunners board to break bank for wing ace
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has set his sights on landing Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha and hopes the Gunners board will break the bank to land him.
Emery is said to have a very tight transfer budget this summer, with reports claiming it stands at just £45million at the present time, which would not buy Zaha’s left leg.
However, that is not stopping suggestions that Emery has approached his board to see if there is anything that can be done to get the in-demand winger on board at the Emirates Stadium.
Zaha has suggested he could be ready to leave Palace and return to a top Premier League side after failing to make the grade at Manchester United, and the Gunners could offer him the chance if they can find the cash.
Some reports have claimed Zaha could be available for £55million, but that seems on the cheap side considering the current market, and it is likely to be closer to £100million if Palace are to consider selling.
Zaha is still only 26 and tied to a long-term deal, so any club who wants him will have to spend big.
