David Neres has dropped a big hint that he will be remaining at Ajax this summer despite reported interest from elsewhere.

The Brazil international, who is currently away representing his country at the Copa America, was one of the stars of last season for Ajax, as he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions as the Amsterdam club won the Eredivisie and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

That kind of impressive form has led to speculation suggesting Neres could leave the Johan Cruyff Arena this summer, with the likes of Everton, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan all reportedly showing an interest.

Matthijs de Ligt is another Ajax player that looks set to be on the move over the coming months, but Neres feels the defender should remain with the Dutch champions, while he has also suggested his own future remains with Erik ten Hag’s side.

Asked by Tuttomercatoweb about the future of Matthijs de Ligt, Neres responded, ‘The best choice for him would be Ajax.

I think that I will continue in red and white.

‘ Neres has also denied any knowledge of Inter’s reported interest in him, although he believes his future will become clearer after the Copa America.

The 22-year-old added: ‘Inter? I really don’t know.

At the moment I am focusing on the Copa América, after which I think about my future.’
