Seagulls close to club-record deal for Genk wing man Trossard
Brighton are closing in on the signing of Belgian winger Leandro Trossard after reportedly agreeing an £18million fee with Genk.
The Seagulls have met with representatives of the 24-year-old in England over the weekend in a bid to push through a move, which would see the club eclipse their previous record transfer fee when they bought Alireza Jahanbakhsh for £17m last summer.
Trossard enjoyed a strong season with Genk, scoring 22 goals and registering 11 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions as the side claimed their fourth Belgian league title.
And, he is now poised to become Brighton’s second summer capture following on from Friday’s deal to bring in centre-back Matt Clarke from League One side Portsmouth.
