Stoke bring in five fresh faces
Stoke boss Nathan Jones says he is ‘delighted’ to have added five new players to his squad ahead of the new campaign.
The Potters failed to earn an immediate return to the Premier League last season and Jones was expected to be busy overhauling the squad this summer.
Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher, Jakob Haugaard, Mate Deczki, Daniel Gyollai, Moussa Niakate, Simranjit Thandi, Jacob Twyford and Mark Waddington have already departed, and Jones has made moves to reinforce.
Defender Liam Lindsay has signed from Barnsley in a £2million deal, while goalkeeper Adam Davies, midfielders Jordan Cousins and Nick Powell and striker Lee Gregory have joined for free.
Jones told the club website: ‘I’m really pleased that we have managed to make these five signings.
It has been an ongoing process for three to four months and I’d like to thank the club because they have backed my judgement.
‘I’m delighted to get these guys in as early as we have done, although we still have a little bit of work to do.’
