Defender Jairo Riedewald looks closer to leaving Crystal Palace with Turkish side Besiktas poised to make a loan offer.

The 22-year-old, who joined from Dutch side Ajax on a five-year deal in summer 2017 for an undisclosed fee, has struggled for first-team action under Roy Hodgson when he replaced Frank de Boer as manager in the September of that following season.

Riedewald, who can also operate as a left back and defensive midfielder, has been heavily expected to leave Selhurst Park in this transfer window.

Fenerbahce had previously been tipped to make a move to sign him, but fresh reports are claiming their Super Lig rivals Besiktas will offer to take the youngster on a season-long loan.

Coach Abdullah Avci is desperate to sign a left-footed central defender this summer and the club’s board has reportedly given him the green light to pursue Riedewald.
