Former Chelsea boss targets defender swoop
Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is said to be lining up a swoop on Stamford Bridge, with defender Emerson Palmieri the target.
Conte is now in charge of Serie A giants Inter Milan and is busy strengthening his squad for the new season, with Palmieri said to be on the wanted list.
The 24-year-old left-back only joined Chelsea in January 2018 when the club paid £17.
6million to Italian side Roma, but he initially struggled to force his way into the side.
There were signs of improvement last season as he made 27 appearances in total but it remains to be seen if he will stay with Chelsea moving forward.
According to the Italian publication Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri are keen to do a deal and will attempt to lure him back to Italy and the San Siro this summer.
Chelsea are likely to block any move while they remain under a transfer ban as Emerson is the only real competition for Marcos Alonso at left-back as things stand.
