Liverpool target £40million Cottage raid
Liverpool are said to be back in the hunt to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham but face strong competition from Tottenham.
The 19-year-old has been on the radar of the top clubs for some time but the Cottagers managed to keep hold of him last season as they could guarantee regular Premier League football.
That has changed following relegation to the Championship and Fulham now face a fight for the England Under-21 ace, with both the Reds and Spurs said to be interested in doing a deal.
Tottenham are reported to be in the box seat as the player is said to be keen on a switch to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but a deal has yet to be agreed and that could leave the door open for Liverpool.
The youngster, who can play anywhere down the left, will not come cheap though and Fulham will be asking for at least £40million if they are to consider letting him go.
The news comes as Liverpool are also reported to be winning the race to sign Fulham starlet Harvey Elliott, who is very highly-rated despite being just 16 years old.
