Villa target Clarets swoop after landing Mings
Aston Villa are set to follow up the signing of Tyrone Mings by making a move for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, reports claim.
Mings joined Villa on loan for the second half of last season and helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League following a 2-1 victory over Derby in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final.
The defender has signed a three-year contract at Villa Park and the fee is reported to be around £20m, with Bournemouth confirming the transfer broke their club record for a fee received for a player.
Mings becomes boss Dean Smith’s sixth signing of the summer, joining fellow former loanees Kortney Hause and Anwar El Ghazi in completing permanent moves to the club, alongside new recruits Jota, Wesley Moraes and Matt Targett at Villa Park.
However the signings will not stop there and reports are now rife suggesting that a £7million bid will be made for Clarets stopper Heaton.
The 33-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his current deal, and reports suggest Villa will try and tempt Burnley into selling by making the offer this week.
