Dunk makes reported Foxes U-turn
Brighton defender Lewis Dunk is reportedly eyeing a move to Leicester City this summer despite stating he is keen to skipper the Seagulls.
The transfer widow merry-go-round is well and truly turning, with a number of big-money signings possibly on the horizon.
One of the biggest is the potential switch from Leicester to Manchester United for Harry Maguire, which would leave the Foxes short of a central defender.
Dunk is reportedly the man they want to fill the void should the Red Devils get their man, but the 27-year-old Brighton-born stopper told his club’s official website earlier this week that he wanted to remain at the Amex and captain the side.
‘We haven’t spoken about the captaincy yet, but fingers crossed we’ll have that chat and hopefully I’ll take the armband – we’ll wait and see,’ he said.
However, a report in the Mirror on Friday suggests the rangy centre-half has had a change of heart and would now be ‘devastated’ if he does not secure a move to King Power Stadium.
The man capped once by England is understood to be valued at between £30m and £40m by Albion, which would not be a problem for Leicester if they get full value for Maguire this summer.
