Milan step up Veretout interest
AC Milan have submitted an improved bid for Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout after seeing an initial approach rejected.
The Frenchman joined La Viola from Aston Villa in 2017 and has since starred in Serie A, managing 15 goals in 75 appearances in all competitions for the Tuscan club.
Milan are eager to land Veretout this summer and have already seen one bid knocked back.
The Rossoneri are believed to have offered a player-plus-cash deal involving Lucas Biglia, but Fiorentina do not want to bring in the veteran Argentine enforcer and so rejected that bid.
Milan have now submitted a cash offer closer to matching Fiorentina’s demands, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, but there is still some work to be done to get the deal over the line.
Roma are also keen on the 26-year-old and Fiorentina intend to hold talks with the Giallorossi before they sanction an exit for Veretout.
