Sankhare emerges as potential Blades target
French reports claim Sheffield United are weighing up a move for Bordeaux midfielder Younousse Sankhare.
Blades boss Chris Wilder is keen to bring in some fresh faces after helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League.
The South Yorkshire club have largely focused on British-based players and have so far brought in Luke Freeman from QPR and free agent Phil Jagielka after his deal at Everton expired, as well as youngsters Christopher Farrugia and Ashton Hall.
French publication L’Equipe have claimed Wilder has cast his eye on the European market and is weighing up a move for 29-year-old Sankhare.
The central midfielder has two years left on his current deal and would command a fee in the region of £5million, but the Blades could face competition as Cardiff City and Swansea have also been linked with the Senegal international.
Sankhare came through the youth academy at Paris Saint-Germain and has spent his entire career to date in France, having turned out for Dijon, Guingamp and Lille before joining Bordeaux two years ago.
