Manchester United have been told they will need to spend a whopping £50m if they want to sign Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.

The 21-year-old has caught the interest of United, who have already splashed out on young British talent this summer with the arrivals of defender Aaron Wan-Bisakka and winger Daniel James.

Longstaff has only limited Premier League experience and has not played for England at any age-group level but still Newcastle are standing firm on a £50m valuation.

With the Red Devils thought to value the Magpies star at around £20m, it looks like United will turn their attentions to other targets this summer, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to put his own stamp on the squad at Old Trafford.
