Everton set to swoop for Lille’s Leao
Everton are reportedly planning to launch a £36million move for Lille forward Rafael Leao but are likely to face competition.
The Goodison Park club have been tracking Leao for some time and it seems they are ready to make a move for the Portuguese attacker, who managed eight goals in 26 appearances in all competitions last season.
Lille are keen to keep hold of the 20-year-old but will struggle to resist a big bid from the Premier League and a £36m offer should be enough to convince them to sell.
However, Everton will face a fight for the former Sporting Lisbon striker as Valencia and Napoli, who can both offer Champions League football, have been linked and Premier League rivals Aston Villa have also been suggested as potential suitors.
Everton boss Marco Silva is keen to bring in some new faces in attack this summer and has been linked with the likes of Diego Costa and Mario Mandzukic in recent weeks, while current forwards Ademola Lookman and Cenk Tosun could well be moved on.
Lookman is thought to be close to agreeing a switch to RB Leipzig, while Tosun is said to be a target for Schalke and Besiktas.
