Fiorentina move for free agent Llorente
Fiorentina are keen to sign free agent Fernando Llorente following the striker’s release by Tottenham.
Llorente left Spurs at the end of last season and the Spanish forward is on the hunt for a new club.
The 34-year-old spent three seasons in Serie A with Juventus, claiming the Scudetto three times and one Coppa Italia title during his stay in Turin.
Reports in Italy claim Fiorentina are interested in the free agent, and it is thought Llorente is open to a return to Serie A.
However, the former Athletic Bilbao and Swansea striker is in no rush to make a decision on his future yet and he could still opt to stick with Tottenham as they have offered him a further one-year deal.
La Viola have been quiet in the transfer market this summer with keeper Pietro Terracciano their only arrival so far after he completed a permanent move from Empoli following a loan spell at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Boss Vincenzo Montella is eager to strengthen his attacking options as the futures of Federico Chiesa and Giovanni Simeone remain uncertain, and Fiorentina appear prepared to wait for Llorente to weigh up his options as they bid to bring in some fresh faces up front.
