Lancashire pair keen on Canaries stopper
Wigan and Burnley have reportedly expressed an interest in Norwich’s teenage goalkeeper Jon McCracken.
The 19-year-old is currently enjoying a trial spell with Wigan but Premier League side Burnley are also interested.
They both believe McCracken would be a solid back-up option and reports claim they are ready to scrap it out for his signature over the next few weeks.
Wigan will feel they have the upper hand in negotiations after taking him on trial but the lure of being in the Premier League with Burnley may prove too difficult to turn down.
He has been on Norwich’s books since agreeing a switch from Hamilton Academical in 2016 and he did earn a place in the matchday squad on several occasions last season.
But McCracken is yet make his first-team bow for the newly-promoted club and was restricted to appearances in Premier League 2 in 2018-19.
