Potter still keen to reunite with striker
Brighton boss Graham Potter still remains interested in Swansea striker Oli McBurnie but an official approach has yet to be made.
McBurnie scored 22 times in 42 Championship appearances under the tutelage of Potter at the Liberty Stadium last season.
His exploits have led to interest from the top flight but Swansea don’t appear willing to let their hitman leave without a fight.
Newly-promoted Sheffield United have already failed with a £15million bid, while Aston Villa are also known to be admirers.
A switch to the Amex could be the most likely option as McBurnie has expressed a desire to work under Potter again in the future.
Ultimately, it will come down to money and whether the hierarchy at Brighton are willing to stump up the cash.
Brighton aren’t blessed with attacking options and had to rely on 35-year-old Glenn Murray for goals last term so further reinforcements in the forward line are expected.
Leandro Trossard has already been drafted in after impressing in Belgium with Genk but he is likely to be deployed on the wing.
McBurnie would definitely provide some much-needed competition for Murray and could potentially be moved on for profit in the future if he continues to develop at the same rate.
