Bhoys handed Tierney transfer boost
Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney will reportedly remain at the Scottish giants this summer after Arsenal ended their pursuit.
Scotland international Tierney’s stock has been rising over the past couple of seasons and he was named PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year in the 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 campaigns.
The 22-year-old has been a key starter as the Bhoys continue to dominate football north of the border and his impressive performances have caught the eye of several top European sides.
Premier League outfit Arsenal were keen on wrapping up a deal this summer and they reportedly had three bids rejected, while Napoli have also been keeping close tabs on the situation.
It is claimed the Gunners’ reluctance to pay £25million in one lump sum has caused any move to stall and it now looks like Tierney will be staying in Scotland after the English suitors withdrew their interest.
The news will come as a massive boost to Celtic, who are looking to complete an unprecedented ‘quadruple-treble’ this season.
