Lille want £70million for Pepe or no deal
Lille are reported to be demanding £70million from Manchester United before they sanction Nicolas Pepe’s move to Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old is on the radar of a number of top clubs following a dazzling season in Ligue 1 in the last campaign and it would appear that United are in the box seat.
Reports have gone as far as suggesting the Reds have hammered out a five-year deal with the player and the move will go through once a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.
That is proving to be easier said than done, with United reluctant to meet Lille’s £70million asking price for the player.
With so much interest and with the transfer window still some weeks away from closing, Lille believe they can get their valuation and are not willing to drop it.
Pepe bagged 24 goals and provided 12 assists last season – and that kind of return does not come cheap in today’s market.
