De Wit has big Twente ambitions
New signing Dani De Wit says AZ Alkmaar have ambitions to compete for the Champions League places this season after completing a move from Ajax.
De Wit joined on a five-year-deal from last season’s Champions League semi-finalists and he is being seen as a direct replacement for Guus Til, who left to join Spartak Moscow earlier this month.
The 21-year-old says he’s delighted to join AZ and has underlined his and the club’s ambitions to do as well as possible in the 2019-20 campaign.

De Wit told the AZ website: “This feels great and I am looking forward to it. AZ is a very large club, you want to sign for. We want to end this season as high as possible in the Eredivisie and get as far as possible in Europe.”
De Wit will hope to get his career going at AZ after making just 12 first-team appearances for Ajax.
AZ have started the Eredivisie season well, winning two and drawing one of their first three games and they go to Vitesse on Sunday, where De Wit will hope to make his debut.
