Watford sporting director Luke Dowling says the club are impressed with Walter Mazzarri and feel he could stay beyond his current deal.

Watford: Watford thinking long-term with coach

The Hornets made the surprise decision to part company with Quique Sanchez Flores at the end of last season after one year in charge, despite the Spaniard doing a decent job, continuing the club's trigger-happy trend which started when the Pozzo family took control in 2012.
Mazzarri became the seventh manager to work under the Pozzos when he was appointed in the summer, with the 55-year-old having impressed during his time working in Italy, in particular his spell in charge of Napoli.
Mazzarri penned a three-year contract when agreeing to join Watford and Dowling says the club have been so happy with him that they may look to extend his deal, hinting that the owners finally want some stability at Vicarage Road.

"We are very happy with Mazzarri,” Dowling told Calciomercato. “He’s a very good tactician, the players like him a lot. We’re very hard to beat this season.
“He has a three-year-deal. He could remain longer.”
