The Baggies chief has spoken out about the highly-rated England Under-21 international stopper as he has been inundated with calls from managers in the second tier of English football looking to take Dawson on loan following his successful spell with Bolton in the second half of last season.
Bolton and Nottingham Forest were believed to be leading the chase for Dawson, who recently stressed his desire to stay at the Hawthorns and fight for Premier League football next season.
And Clarke has now confirmed that the 23-year-old will be in his plans, along with several other younger players he is calling on to show they are worthy of a place in the team.
He said: "They will get a chance, if they are good enough. That will always be the case. I was fortunate enough to play first-team football when I was 18. It didn't do me any harm.
"If you're good enough, you're old enough. If you've got a good group, like we have, it obviously helps, but if you're good enough you will be involved."
