Gera, 34, is out of contract this summer and as such is free to talk to other clubs but the veteran midfielder is keen to extend his stay at the Hawthorns.
When asked about reports indicating that the Hungarian is heading for pastures new this summer, his agent Filipovic Vladan told Nemzeti Sport: "This is not true. Zoltan's contract expires and he is free to sign anywhere, but this doesn't mean that West Brom don't want to keep him.
"We are having talks with the club, the leaders have stressed that they want Zoltan Gera to stay.
"The negotiations are going well and we hope that a new contract will be signed within one or two weeks.
"Zoltan feels good at the club, his health is getting better, his injury will soon be history so he has no reason to change."
However, Reid has failed to come to an agreement with the club regarding a new deal and will officially leave West Brom when his deal comes to an end on July 1.
It has been reported that three unnamed Premier League rivals have expressed an interest in the 32-year-old, while a number of Championship sides are also thought to be keen on the former Ireland international.
